I love my carousels!
I was out shopping and came upon a few ideas to cut the costs!
I was able to put together 4 for the price of one purchased on Etsy!
I was off on my weekly foray of making my drug store stop, gathering food, and for me, the most important thing – craft supplies! I’m working on a canvas right now that is confetti hell… I have a ton of different colors that I need available. I’d never get anywhere if I had to take out a color and put it away each time so that’s when my love for a good carousel hits home! But even the 6 tray carousels just didn’t cut it!
Wandering through Hobby Lobby (no, I don’t want to hear the negativity! we are all free to make the choice of what stores we shop at!) I ran across a few ideas…
The first was in the hobby aisle, with a $21 turntable meant for painting. Now $21 is less than what I spent but still more than I wanted to. So I kept going… Imagine my surprise as I was walking along to look down and find that 6 skeins of yarn had hopped a ride in my cart! Well geez! Fine!
I wandered to the cake decorating aisle and found a much cheaper option! Decorators use turntables when decorating cakes! AHA! This was only $4.99 on sale!
Now we are talking! But it’s on a pedestal. So it’ll take some work to bring it down to table height but for that price? I’ll do the work! But this one would still only hold 6 trays… My table at this point is loaded down with turntables so I was hoping to snag something that would hold more… I did grab 2 but also kept on looking.
Ended up in the Holiday section up at the front of my store and found some Thanksgiving items that were 50% off. I love a good sale! And what I found fit just what I was looking for!

This beautiful real wood turntable came in at $8.99 after applying the 50% off – SCORE! This puppy is large enough to hold a multitude of trays!

I don’t know about you, but after Diamond Painting for a while, I’ve ended up with a real mish mosh of trays! You can lay this baby out with all different sizes and shapes.
I will add one word of warning though to all these suggestions – you can’t spin these like a little kid in an office chair! You need to be careful. You could always use shelf liner or drawer liner and that would help hold things in place. You can get a roll of that at most any store – Walmart, Dollar Tree, etc.
Walmart sells some comparable items to these. This is where I just happened to be shopping yesterday.
So open your eyes to possibilities and let everyday items transform into aides! For $28 (2 wood and 2 pedestals) I now have 4 carousels to add to my DP fun!
Now to figure out what the yarn was thinking….
Until next time!
